Good Monday Morning – Deep thoughts this AM – Are you ready?
What’s our “Worth” as human beings?
Can it be measured?
What do (can) we do to increase our Personal Value both personally and professionally?
How much risk will we tolerate as we manage this “worth?”
Big risk takers “Put all of their eggs in one basket” – Cross their fingers – Close their eyes – and CHARGE forward til tackled . . . let the dust settle . . . Then go again. These high rollers are gambling with their personal wealth with an “all or nothin’ approach.”
I think there’re a lot of folks “out there” looking for more stability, less risk, and more return on their investment of self (Human talent and effort).
So – from Wiki – “In finance, diversification means reducing risk by investing in a variety of assets. If the asset values do not move up and down in perfect synchrony, a diversified portfolio will have less risk than the weighted average risk of its constituent assets, and often less risk than the least risky of its constituents.”
Which Human Assets make up YOUR “Personal Worth Portfolio?”
- Commitment to Learning
- Competitive Drive
- Raw Talent
- Specialized Skill
- Self Respect
- Communication Skills
- Ability to Let Go . . .
- This list could go on and on and on and on . . .
The main point being . . . the stakes are higher now than they have been in many years for us each (personally) to “Get” the importance of being the best we can be – to optimize our personal worth.
Life’s too short not to pay attention to this.
For almost 20 years now, I have worked in the field of Residential Real Estate Sales, consulting, and coaching of other Real Estate Sales Professionals. The common theme amongst most in this profession (and I suspect in many professionas) is one of a quest for “Life Balance” which always seems to be an elusive (if not delusional) dream.
Perhaps the reality of what we’re striving to achieve is an “Illusion of Balance” . . . a FLOW or RHYTHM of life that lets us appear as a duck . . . calm and unruffled on the surface while wildly paddling underneath.
Keep working on the diversity of the “Personal Wealth Portfolio” and your “duckness” will improve daily 🙂
Hoping you have a great week!
PS – I had an Open House visitor ask me about my new real estate firm yesterday. She was curious about what Pareto Realty is all about and what is our specialty? Oh Boy! SHE opened a can of worms. I realized right then that our firm mission really is ALL about helping our associates find their own Life Rhythm. Her question helped clarify one thing . . . Pareto Realty as a real estate firm is all about helping our associates increase their Personal Wealth Portfolio over time such that they can serve their clients in kind . . . and we all WIN 🙂
