Where’s the line!

Tis the Eve of Christmas!

Target stores are open til 11 PM tonight!

My bank closed at Noon!

I drove past Cracker Barrel @ 5 PM, and the parking lot was EMPTY – I don’t know what time they closed.

Where’s the line between serving customers appropriately and denying employees time for celebration?

Why do some stores stay open later than others?

As the Target cashier told me when I bought my last item this afternoon: “They’re all about the money!”

You’re a consumer . . . Do you think you should be able to go to the store 24/7 even on holidays to buy the stuff you forgot to buy during “regular” business hours?

These companies stay open because it’s profitable.

Those who buy during the off times support their decision.

How ’bout the other side of this . . . I find myself judging Target for keeping their employees at work (and away from their families) late on Christmas Eve . . . even as I applaud the empty parking lot at Cracker Barrel.

I don’t know where that line is . . .

I do know that I wish everyone out there a very Merry Christmas 🙂
