Call it whatever you want . . .
Good will ambassador
In times like this, hearing “I was just thinking about you” can LITERALLY be a life-saver.
Perhaps you’re thinking about what you “should” say. My response to this is: “as little as possible” . . . With genuine empathy, a good start is something simple . . . “How are you doing with all of this craziness?”
No script would do this call any justice – Just listen and be present for as long as this person needs. Validate their feelings and assure them that, while they are physically isolated, this is a temporary condition and that you are here for them. What fears are present?
Physically SMILE throughout EVERY call – It’s contagious!
“It’s not what you say, it’s how you make them feel”
Every morning, I send a “Check-in” email to the Vital Few Realtors of Pareto Realty
Good morning – My daily check-in!
The isolation increases as ALL city, state and Federal parks will close – Grocery stores with limited access and more . . .
All the more reason to spend every day touching base with other humans . . . CINC calls can be HUGE if you do it from the perspective of reaching out to check on well-being and talking about possibilities knowing that this thing WILL pass.
These genuine, heartfelt calls could even be “life-saving” for some people who are alone and scared.
Continue to take care of YOURSELF FIRST . . . then spend your day calling, emailing, texting, facetime and being outdoors as much as possible.
If you need woods and trees and hiking, you’re always welcome in Owen Hollow where there’s plenty of space for appropriate social distancing.etc
Let me know if I can serve you in any way today or any day.
