Mayor Dean and I don’t always see eye-to-eye.
It’s not like we’re “Best Buds” or anything, but we have crossed paths more than once on opposite sides of the table with some pretty contentious matters through the years.
Fundamentally, I agree with and am very appreciative of the Mayor’s commitment to Schools, Parks, Safety, and economic growth and development . . . Where we often differ is the “HOW” we, as a city, are going about moving forward with all of these fronts.
I find myself questioning many of the Mayors Methods and Priorities . . . Lest I fall into a self-made trap of political rantings, I’ll pause that train of thought because none of that is why I am writing this post.
I am a passionate and RAVING fan of Nashville Tennessee. Our city is growing by leaps and bounds and has been called the “IT” city . . . “Cool” . . . “THE” City in which to live, work and play. We are attracting great businesses and are developing our downtown into a veritable urban mecca with a smooth mix of exciting venues (Nashville Music City Center, Myriad new hotels, exciting Condominium High-rises, Nationally acclaimed Restaurants, Live music on every corner, some of the best festivals in the country like Live on the Green).
Our down-town is a veritable playground for anything and everything you would want to do in a city.
Yet Nashville (to me) still feels like the small town I grew up in 🙂
Today, I brag on one of the Mayor’s coolest projects to date:
As a native of Nashville, it has always baffled me why we Nashvillians have not “Optimized” our Riverfront. It’s almost as if, for all these years, we just never acknowledged the potential for FUN that the Cumberland River offers. For decades, we let it be “Industrial” . . . even into the years when being industrial in a downtown was no longer cool . . . The highest and best use of those riverbanks has NOT been attained . . . until now.
This park invites out-door fun and entertainment with it’s cool mix of stitching together the arts, music, sports, and healthy living.
So . . . Join me in celebration of the Mayor’s fabulous work keeping Nashville VITAL 🙂
PS – Every day, I think more than I probably should about things relating to Real Estate trends and activity . . . and I “strategize” to the nth degree so I can appropriately serve Home Buyers and Sellers and advise Real Estate Agents.
My role as a Real Estate Strategist is my most important business role. Connect with me with any real estate matters you may be facing, and let’s do some good old fashioned “solutioning.”
