Great things happen when we seek and find Open Space.
Burned in my brain is the mantra of Coach David on the soccer field as he reminds his players to look for the Open Space and go THERE where time opens up and strategies unfold.
Always: “Eyes UP . . . What do you see?”
The space is there . . . ALWAYS!
Just as with time, it’s up to us to find it and create opportunities to benefit from it.
We can Open Space simply by pausing the frenzy and asking the inviting question: “What do you see?”, Identifying the when and where, and inviting others with congruent passion and energy to the conversation.
Some folks think they can create space, and I could get all philosophical about that (because the Space always has been, is, and always will be here), but I’ll agree that we CAN create “SAFE Space” . . . by shifting the game into less populated locales.
Here’s my leap from the soccer field to practical, real life, boots on the ground Carpe Diem space that’s open.
We must SEIZE it!
We TAKE – occupy – move into – this space and out of the fray of everyday intensity and frenetic happenings.
We must do this intentionally!
We must do this consistently and persistently!
. . . even daily!
For me, this means quarantining myself into an hermetically sealed space for a period of 1-3 hours EVERY morning for the sole purpose of asking myself the question: “What do you see?” relative to what’s to happen that day, week, month . . .
This is a matter of “Ready – AIM – FIRE” vs the alternative of “FIRE – FIRE – FIRE” . . .
and it produces daily FOCUS!
We all know that upon which we focus EXPANDS, right?
The space is there!
It’s up to you to seize it and generate the focus you require to achieve your goals.
I can guarantee that if you DO try this, you will have IMMEDIATE (positive) results.
“What do you see?”
