It’s not very difficult to be busy.
Most of us humans wake up each morning and do our routine of getting ready for a BUSY day. There are a couple of ways we can be busy.
We might busy ourselves by doing the following:
- Meditate and/or Pray
- Plan and Calendar
- Love, Laugh, and Play with our family
These are the things that MATTER!
or . . . we might stumble out of bed, shower, and throw on some clothes and stop by McD’s or Starbucks for coffee and something to eat on the run.
What we do first thing in the morning defines how we define “Busyness” throughout the day.
When we begin each day with intentional attention to our Spiritual, Mental, Physical, Social, and Emotional needs, we create a positive flow of energy that will carry us through our business day.
On those days we dive in with reckless abandon, our days will tend to be overwhelmingly BUSY . . . but at the end of the day, we’ll likely feel exhausted and mystified as to how we can work so HARD with such meager results.
If you’re ALWAYS very busy and disappointed in your progress, try this.
Understand that in every moment you have 2 choices:
- Engage in a “Vital Few” activity (One that MATTERS) which will (when accomplished) will bring you one significant step closer to your goal/purpose.
- Engage in the myriad “trivial Many” activities that seem to come at you in a never ending stream and none of which give you any inkling of a “Warm and Fuzzy” feeling of personal effectiveness
Choose “Vital Few” more and “Trivial Many” less, and you’ll marvel at the speed at which your busyness converts to real “Money in your pocket” BUSINESS.
If this really IS just this simple, why aren’t more people doing it?
THAT’s what baffles me . . .
How ’bout you?
Which is it . . . and how’s that working for you?
Inquiring minds want to know 🙂
