Connecting the dots

Business shows up in the most mysterious ways sometimes, yet it doesn’t happen accidentally.

As we all meander along in life, we strive to do the best with the cards we are dealt.

Some people seem to be a lot luckier than others, though!

If you really want to know, follow one of those “lucky” people around for a while and observe with whom they associate and HOW.

Odds are good that you’ll learn very quickly that they believe in the premise that communication must always be a 2-way street to be VERY effective.

You’ll also notice that they tend to communicate on many different levels and by many different methods throughout their day.

The telephone for voice, voice mail, and texting . . .

The computer and/or smartphone for Twitter, facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest, Foursquare and other social media outlets.

and there’s LOTS of face-to-face interaction.

These folks are unabashedly resolute in their pursuit of effective communication, and they understand that a DEEP pool of acquaintances yields a more rewarding life experience – the Vital Few rise to the top and everyone wins.

These high achievers also understand that different people have different communication preferences, and that the most efficient way to interact is to be able to be a communication chameleon – Morphing between text, voice, email, social media and intermingling various combinations throughout the day.

These superstars never pass up on the opportunity to adopt a new communication medium because they KNOW it will likely lead to a deeper pool of vital contacts.

In the past hour, I saw a message on facebook from a REALTOR friend of mine in another city looking for a referral for a great REALTOR in a different area (Not Nashville) . . . Turns out I know a great REALTOR there and passed along his info through facebook direct message and email (because I knew he would get the email first) . . . then I texted the person receiving the referral (because I knew he would get the text first) . . . and he called me on the phone (because he knew that I would answer my phone) thanked me, and gave ME a referral of a relocating client moving to Nashville . . . who I emailed immediately.

All of this happened in the period of less than 30 minutes, and it’s less amazing than anyone of us want to make it . . . and we generated 2 leads involving 3 states – Lucky?

All we did was connect the dots.

Doesn’t matter what you career or industry is . . . this connecting the dots thing can accelerate your success.

But it doesn’t (cannot) work well for you if you abstain from any of the communication channels.

I and Pareto Realty are poised and ready to CONNECT at any level with anyone regarding real estate matters in middle TN or anywhere on the planet . . . If you need to find or sell a house ANYWHERE, I’m betting I can connect the dots for you.
