Addicted to Social Media?

Who do you know who you are quite certain is addicted to Social Media?
Are You?
Let’s be honest . . . Do you communicate with Friends, family, work associates more through
Facebook than any other means?
Are you taking pictures of most meals?
“checking in” everywhere you go?
Texting while driving?
Do you speak in text code? (LOL, LMFAO, ROFLMAO)
Have you forgotten how to spell complicated words like “You” and “Are” (U & R)?
Do you consider people who aren’t “there” with you “Old school dinosaurs?”
I have a strong belief that a mix of “Old School” and “hip” social media is essential for depth in today’s business environment.
Many people are attempting to draw a distinct line between their personal and professional presence in the social media, and I believe that’s a mistake (unless there really ARE 2 of you in that body of yours).

At the same time, there’s a delicate balance necessary in the content that goes out there in your internet persona.
Networking works best when you offer (and can communicate) VALUE to your “audience”

My blog, tweets, facebook, linkedin, email strategy is to blend in more than just real estate related content – Everything from Life balance to the intricacies of the real estate transaction to issues and opportunities in the local market . . . to saving the economy. and weekly “Lunch & Learn” sessions bring it all together face-to-face.

I think it all works together, and the better a person does that dance, the more influential she is in the community.
For sure, this is an on-going experiment for all of us . . . and as soon as we think we’ve “got it” . . . the platform changes to “timeline” 🙂
