Don’t you LOVE receiving invitations?
After all, the inviter thought of you and wanted YOU to come to the party.
Yes! You are one of just a handful of people who have the opportunity to attend this fabulous soiree.
Of course, one of the great things about invitations is that there is no requirement for you to attend.
You can RSVP “No Thank you!” or “Maybe” . . .
Now that you’ve been invited, you can choose to show up and be present and engage at any level you wish.
From this point forward, it’s up to YOU to bring your authentic passion and take responsibility for your own experience by participating fully.
The law of 2 feet always applies in all things. If at any point you feel you are neither contributing nor receiving anything of value, it’ll be up to YOU to decide to use your 2 feet and take yourself to a place where you can contribute and/or receive . . . In other words, you have the power to choose your experience.
When I am the inviter, I invite EVERYONE knowing full well that they all will not attend (but if they do, we’ll have one heck of a shindig).
I know that all the right people will show up and whatever happens will be the only thing that could have.
For many folks who have “Control Freak” tendencies, this fluid use of the invitation is a most extreme case of heresy.
How could we possibly invite EVERYONE?
What if “too many” people show up, and we run out food or seats?
Guess what . . . I have had this experience, but I never thought of it as being “too many” . . . and everything worked out just fine because we had the right people who were there for the experience.
SO . . . My point – If you are a worrier who hesitates inviting people to – well – anything out of fear of leaving someone out or having “too many” people show up, I hereby invite you to invite more.
Invite more and enjoy those who show up.
