Yes – There’s a buyer for every house

There are some really funky houses out there.

Oh yeah!

In my 23+ years of selling houses, I’ve seen houses with:

  • crazy decor
  • non-functional floor plans
  • hideous curb appeal
  • impossible lots
  • Deplorable condition
  • Ghosts
  • “Stigmatized” by Crime scenes
  • Unsafe location (Crack house next door and drive-through recreational drug pharmacy across the street)
  • Highway in front yard
  • Railroad track running through the back yard
  • In the flood plain
  • High tension power line towers in side yard

This list could go on and on and on, but I think you catch the drift.

Here’s my point . . . They ALL sell!

Someone bought it the first time and/or made it what it is, and they’ve LOVED living there for YEARS.

It will also make a nice home for someone else at some price which likely will not be in alignment with the nearby comparable sales. (Lower price to compensate for it’s over-abundance of “Character”)

You, too, can buy one of these “exceptional properties” and enjoy it for years to come, but I ask you one favor.

When you decide it’s time to move on to another house, please don’t forget that when you bought it, you got it at a price significantly lower than the median price of other houses in the neighborhood.

All boats rise with the tide so your house will have risen in worth through the years just as have the other houses but unless you’ve fixed the funkiness, pricing “with the market” will lead to a long and painful selling experience.

OWN and acknowledge that funkiness and agree to price it accordingly.

Your neighborhood REALTOR will help you find the right price to attract the right buyer.

BTW . . . I and the Vital Few REALTORS of Pareto Realty LOVE selling uniquely/specially/exceptionally funky houses and are masters at finding these right Buyers 🙂
