This Real Estate Market is like a box of chocolates!

Well! To be honest, ALL real estate markets are like a box of chocolates.

Just ask any REALTOR!

At any given moment, someone is moving the cheese.

Just when you think: “I’ve got this!” something happens to send everyone involved into a mortifying tail-spin.

Some REALTORS might tell you this is one of the reasons we love what we do. There’s seldom a dull moment in our day.

Non-REALTORS who witness the relative mayhem we face with grace daily sometimes ask us why our masochistic proclivity?

I can only respond with the one trait of every successful REALTOR I’ve ever met . . . A steadfast determination to overcome any and every obstacle that might arise during the transaction such that our CLIENTS get WHAT they Want (The right house), WHERE they want to live and WHEN they want to move within their financial means with the least amount of hassle/angst possible.

For sure, this career is not for the faint of heart.

THIS is the “burden” we took on when we chose to pursue a career as a residential Real Estate Sales Professional (whether or not we fully understood these ramifications up front) and this is often THE reason most folks who get their license to sell real estate don’t survive very long in the biz . . . and we sometime hear long-time agents grumbling about “burn-out” and a desire to “quit” . . . yet we carry on.

BECAUSE it’s in our blood . . . This desire to “Serve and Protect” our loyal Home Buying and Selling Clients. After all, if we were to leave the business, who would take care of our peeps as well as we?

We are reminded about this as we remember the joy on our clients’ faces at the closing table . . . and we know that for every “Mission Impossible” we face, there are more smooth deals.

We know that our clients are under tremendous stress regardless of the relative smoothness of the transaction. Most of these Home Buyers and Sellers are participating in the largest Financial transaction of their lives and are fearful of making a mistake/wrong decision . . . or getting their hopes “too high” . . . or . . . or . . . or . . .

As much as we all would like to say that our steel resolve and resiliency comes from a “code” of not taking things personally . . . the reality is that we take it ALL personally because we invest our ALL into representing our clients because we CARE . . . and there’s nothing we (or anyone else) can do about this because it’s in our DNA.

As the markets shift in and out of “Buyer’s Market” – “Healthy Market” – “Seller’s Market” the savvy REALTORS shift with the market and adjust their approaches appropriately . . . which sometimes means a complete rewrite of whole sections of the service model on the fly.

Of course, this is the case for pretty much EVERY business on the planet.

I take my commitment to the Vital Few members of Pareto Realty and to my loyal clients through the past 25+ years VERY personally, and I’m poised and ready to tackle the next “Mission Impossible” that rears its ugly head.

How ’bout you?
