Taking for granted . . .

A bird in the hand . . .

Looking a gift horse in the mouth . . .

A home Seller with a Buyer . . .

A home Buyer with a contract on a house . . .

A dog with a bone . . .

All of the above (and many other) quips reference the importance of being appreciative.

Often, I am mystified by people upon whom others have bestowed great kindness and generosity and have given more than they “have to give” only to have the “givee” unappreciatively continue to DEMAND and TAKE MORE!

Do nice guys really finish last?

Do all people ultimately receive their due?

Will karma bite these takers eventually?

In a real estate transaction, we see some of the seemingly nicest people turn jaded and greedy during the process, just as we see others who never waiver in their “do the right thing, take the high road” commitment to integrity, fairness, and cooperative Spirit.

and so it goes in life, eh?

For us designated “Peacekeepers, mediators, agents, representatives” managing these dichotomous personalities through complex transactions, we often must pause and muse “SMH” (Shaking My Head).
