I woke up this morning, therefore I am ALIVE!
There’s a roof over my head and food in the fridge.
I just counted 3 blessings before my feet hit the floor.
There are many people in the world who don’t have either a roof over their heads or food in their fridge, and they’re alive AND thankful for other things – like family and friends, pets, favorable weather . . .
Consider your own “Good Fortune”
We all have plenty of stress in our lives, and most of this stress revolves around WANTS we have.
We want More than the Joneses.
We want our cake and we want to eat it too.
We want to work less and make more money.
We want the “easy life.”
We want to live the American Dream.
Somehow, we feel we DESERVE more.
and if we don’t get it, we’re gonna throw a tantrum.
This edition of Monday Morning Coffee comes to you from beautiful Pensacola Beach on the Gulf. I can’t think of anything I want right now other than to be where I am enjoying the company of my Family.
I’m counting blessings by the hundreds.
I’m also negotiating a couple of real estate transactions (for which I am grateful) and find myself perplexed by the dissonance between my current experience and the “behavior” of one of the parties of this negotiation . . . The sellers of this house are stuck in their own world of “want” and are depriving themselves of the freedom that comes with counting blessings . . . and these blinders very well may kill the deal and ultimately cost them many more thousands of dollars.
Their good fortune includes:
- A Buyer who likes their house enough to make an offer
- That Buyer has agreed to pay more money for their house than any other buyer has been willing.
- That price is slightly above the “Average Market” and could be tough to appraise, but no appraisal is necessary because . . .
- The closing is fast and all cash
So many blessings . . . so little time!
Keep on counting . . . and be grateful!
Life could be a LOT worse than it is now.
