Keep your room clean

Can you hear your Mother’s voice?

Maybe, you’re hearing the echo of your own voice as you do your best to get your cohabitants (Children) to decrease the clutter and carnage that is their room . . . after all, there IS a floor down there somewhere, right?

Same goes for your spaces on the internet.

If you’re a blogger, you probably allow open comments . . .

Your facebook page (or instgram or twitter) may be completely open space for your “Friends” to exercise their wittiness writ large.

Assuming you’re putting yourself “out there” authentically, you’ll likely strike a nerve or more occasionally . . . which might elicit less-than-savory feedback for the whole world to see (on the internet).

Guess what?

YOU are responsible for ALL of the content on your “wall” whether you created it or not.

If it’s unethical or biased or racist or politically charged or or or, YOU are the “harbormaster”

So . . . Keep your room clean.

When it gets messy, don’t think twice about deleting unsavory comments.

It’s YOUR space, and whatever is there is a reflection on YOU!

This is IMPORTANT stuff because it could very well affect your livelihood.

Yep – Clients will see it . . . The website moderators (facebook) may sanction you . . . Government regulators may stumble upon it and prosecute.

So . . . It’s not enough just to be careful with what YOU put out there . . .

We all also have a responsibility to “Police” others’ contributions to our spaces.

Don’t be bashful about this.
